About

Hi, I’m Beth.  I’m a Stay At Home Mom in the San Francisco Bay Area.  Before my daughter was born, I had a budding career, and spent most of my time with fun, interesting adults.  I love being home with my daughter, but I do find that my vocabulary is shrinking and my ability to discuss anything other than sleep training, diapers, feeding, and everything else baby is diminishing.  So I decided to start reading blogs and writing my own in an attempt to keep my brain cells active.

Sounds like a great idea! I wish there had been blogging (or even an internet!) when my son was little – there were many times I felt like my brains had turned to mashed potatoes. I wouldn’t have traded it, but it would probably have been good to have a place to practice communicating with adults more often.

I remember when my wife was a stay @ home mom….told me she craved some adult conversation when I got home from work. She loved having the opportunity to be with the kids, but @ the same time, it was mentally challenging. I wish now I would have been even more sensitive and supportive to her. Being a mom is one of the hardest jobs on the planet..no doubt in my mind.

Hey cool you’re in the SF Bay Area too, so am I. And the two blog comments above me are some really cool people who I’ve gotten to know through blogging, even cooler! I’m glad I checked out your site from Patti’s post.

Bethany, you are doing a big job as a stay-at-home-mom. Keep on blogging. It’s fun to connect with “adults” – though I’m not sure I always qualify. My wife says my mental age is about 14 because of my maturity level. She can’t be right ;)!

I’m from Bay Area too and I am glad I stayed home as a mom – two of my kiddos are now in College and are grateful that I was there for them.

I love your blog / enjoy a few moments away

    Hugs
